Cottagecore is a romantic and historic countryside aesthetic that combines vintage / colonial-era pieces, natural elements (ex: floral prints, natural woods, organic textures etc.), and a natural color palette into a cohesive design.

Grandmillennial is an updated take on traditional interiors. There is a heavy emphasis on Victorian and vintage furniture. Bold vibrant colors and patterns such as chintz and chinoiserie add a modern touch to the traditional elements, for example, fringed sofas, antique china, patterned drapery, oil paintings.

With most people continuing to work from home, integrated work environments are on the rise and will continue to take dominance and priority in 2022.

Furniture shortages and extensive delays in furniture shipment have caused an increased interest in second-hand furniture. Antiques and repurposed furniture will replace modern furniture in the coming year.

Whites, creams, and ivory will be replaced with warm neutrals. Nature-inspired green tones will surge bringing the outside vibes into interior spaces. Earthy neutrals such as camel, taupe, cognac, rust, and sage will be used for sofas and upholstered pieces.

Expect to see more indoor plants incorporated into interior designs. Indoor plants have a calming effect and promote clean air.
